About the Author
Dr. Egil Juliussen is Co-CEO of Computer Industry Almanac Inc. which creates the Computer Industry Almanac, the Internet Industry Almanac and does computer industry consulting. Previously he was Chairman of Workstation Laboratories Inc., which specializes in performance testing of workstations and PCs. Egil was a member of the advisory board of COMDEX and Sunworld. In 1986 he was a co-founder of StoreBoard Inc. which tracks the sales of PC products through computer stores. Prior to this, Dr. Juliussen was Chairman, and Co-founder of Future Computing--an information service company that specialized in product testing, market research, for the PC industry. In 1984, Future Computing was sold to McGraw-Hill. Previously, Dr. Juliussen was with Texas Instruments where he was a strategic and product planner for microprocessors, minicomputers and PCs. Dr. Juliussen was also employed by Norden, a division of United Technologies, where he designed graphics systems. He regularly writes columns and papers for computer publications and makes presentations, seminars and lectures in the U.S., Japan and Europe. Egil is a native of Norway and grew up in Stavanger.

Karen Petska-Juliussen is Co-CEO of Computer Industry Almanac Inc. which compiles and publishes the Internet Industry Almanac and Computer Industry Almanac. The 1992 Computer Industry Almanac received the Computer Press Association Computer Press Runner-up award in the nonfiction computer book category. Previously, Karen was Vice President of Marketing for Workstation Laboratories Inc., which specializes in benchmark performance testing of PCs and workstations. Karen was also a co-founder of StoreBoard Inc. and left in 1987 to dedicate full-time to the Almanac. StoreBoard was sold to Computer Intelligence in August, 1989. Prior to this Karen was with Future Computing, Inc. from 1984 to 1986. Future Computing was an information service company specializing in the personal computer industry. Karen is from in Chicago Illinois.
